Moreover, as discovered by Australian researchers, after processing and packaging, the fruits are the raw material for the manufacture of juices lose much of its anticancer ingredients.

Other experts, however, speaking to international media, indicating that the "subversive" study is very small, and emphasize that the issue needs further and more detailed investigation.

Juices and cancers of the intestines

Researchers from the University of Perth in Australia wanted to explore the role of various fruits, vegetables and juices to prevent different types of bowel cancer.

Examined the eating habits of 2,200 adults from whom asked to complete a detailed questionnaire on their daily diet. They were then followed for two years to see how many of them will experience some form of bowel cancer.

Not surprisingly, they realized that eating apples every day, Brussels sprouts, broccoli or cauliflower greatly reduce the incidence of cancer in the intestines.

They found, however, that those volunteers drank many fruit juices increased risk of cancer. As described in the publication is printed «Journal of the American Dietetic Association», those who drank more than three glasses of juice a day were more likely to develop rectal cancer.

The researchers also emphasized that much of dietary fiber, vitamin C and antioxidant-containing fruits and is thought to protect against bowel cancers are lost during the processing of juice.

It is worth noting that a few months ago a team of researchers from the University of Bangor in Wales had also questioned the "healthy" qualities of the juice because of the high sugar content.

British scientists have even recommended the preferential consumption of fresh or dried fruit, stressing that even a glass of freshly squeezed juice can contain up to five tablespoons of sugar.
