But a man can forgive infidelity ... as long as the third person is a woman! This follows research by the University of Texas at Austin. By contrast, women much more difficult to forgive the infidelity of their partner if the scandal was a man.

The researchers asked 718 students to think they are a long relationship and to reflect on their reactions toward infidelity scenarios.
They found that half the men probably would have continued the relationship with a woman if they had been cheated of the same sex, while only 22% said they would forgive infidelity with a man.

In women the results were back. If a friend of cheating with another woman, 28% said they would not be separated, but 21% will be divided if you cheat with a man.

The study, whose results were published this month in the journal Personality and Individual Differences, found that the reaction of respondents based on the instinct of jealousy.

The men feel more threatened by a rival male, while viewing the homosexual adventures of their partner as "an opportunity to get together sexually with more than one woman simultaneously satisfy the deep desire of men for more partners."
